There are 99 verses in this Makki Surah. According to the commentary of Majma’ul Bayan, reciting this Surah carries a reward equivalent to ten times the number of individuals present in the time of Prophet Zakariyyah, Yahya, Isa, Musa, Ishaq, Harun, Ibrahim, Ya’qub, and Isma’il combined.

Keeping this Surah in one's residence provides protection against theft and bestows blessings upon the inhabitants. It is also recounted that if one recites 'Kaf-Ha-Ya-’Ain-Saad' and closes one finger of their right hand with each letter before facing a tyrant ruler; then recites 'Ha-Mim-‘Ain-Seen-Qaaf' closing one finger of their left hand with each letter; and upon entering the tyrant's presence recites 'wa ‘anatil wujuhu lil hayyil qayyum wa khaaba man hamala dhulma', opening their fingers afterward, they will be shielded from the malevolence of the tyrant.
